Intersegmental Distraction

Rolling wheels that mobilize every spinal segment, the easiest ‘good-morning stretch’ your back has ever gotten.

10-15min per session

Intersegmental distraction uses a table with slow-moving rollers built underneath its padded surface.

As the rollers travel along the length of your spine, each vertebral segment is gently mobilized and blood flow to the spinal tissues increases. It’s an excellent low-force option for stiff backs, older patients, or a warm-up before adjusting.

How it works

Inside a intersegmental distraction session.

01

Lie back and relax

You lie face-up on the padded table, no belts or restraints needed.

02

Rollers travel your spine

The rollers move slowly up and down the length of your spine, gently mobilizing each segment.

03

Boost tissue circulation

Mobilization drives fresh blood into the spinal muscles and discs.

04

Prep for the next step

Most patients use it as a warm-up before adjustments or as a cool-down after.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this an adjustment?

No. It’s mobilization, not manipulation. Different mechanism, gentler force. We often use both in the same visit.

Is it safe for older patients?

Yes. It’s one of our first-choice options when a patient prefers low-force care.

Can I do this without an adjustment?

Absolutely. Some patients come in specifically for the roller table plus a modality, a great gentle recovery visit.
